Time out sa Timezone!

I've never been the arcade type of person. I don't even remember ever stepping into an entertainment center when I was studying. But last December, my family and I tried going to the Q Power Station at the Powerplant mall - and got totally hooked! It was extremely fun and we got so much kawaii stuffed toys from those crane chuvas. Then as work and school stuff took most of our time, our arcade moments stopped.

Then this past weekend, my brother invited us to Timezone at the Mall of Asia. We didn't get the chance to go last Saturday so we went last night (Sunday) instead. We got totally hooked (once again once more) that we left the arcade center past midnight! Yes, past 12am...with the entire MOA closed, and us forgetting to even eat dinner. What suckers. LOL!

This Lord of the Rings pinball game is so cool! They have miniatures Gandalf, Frodo, Gollum, Sam Milby and all other LOTR characters in the game. sugoi!

AC and Ishy are masters of the drums and those hands version of dance revo ( i dunno what it's called really. hihihi)

What made us stay for 5 long hours was the karaoke! It was so so so much fun that we plan on returning for another session next week. bwahahahaahhaha! mga adik~

end of UAAP basketball round 1

After 7 games into the 70th season of UAAP, marking the end of the first round, the Tigers are now in 3rd place (tied with ateneo and feu). UST won against Ateneo, 87-74, yesterday in what was a very close game until the surge that the Tigers had in the 4th quarter. ^_^

Khasim Mirza = ♥! He was the best player of the game and rightly so. He scored 25 points and his presence was what saved the tigers. What with Jervy so closely guarded by the eagles. But that still didn't stop Jervy from posting double figures (19 pts and 21 big rebounds)

What was irritably funny was the Ateneo halftime performance! They had the cheerleaders then the babble battalion in the performance. They were in the court far too long; the halftime report was completed and the buzzer sounded but they were still not finished. The UST crowd was singing Go USTE and that irritated Ateneo. They felt that UST was disrespecting their performance when in fact people were just probably annoyed by the long performance and would like the game to proceed. But before the 3rd quarter started, the announcer boomed loudly some rules of the UAAP, which ADMU broke 2 of these.

1. That the halftime performance should not exceed 5 mins. - I watched the replay last night and timed Ateneo's performance. It was almost 9 minutes long. The buzzer sounded twice but they still continued on with the performance.

2. The announcer enumerated the number of drums allowed per venue. I forgot the exact numbers but for Cuneta Astro, each team is allowed only 1 (or 3?) bass and 1 snare. - Ateneo's Babble Battalion performed complete with all their bass and snare drums. Of course I didn't count but it was waaaay more than the number allowed.

That announcement put the Ateneans in their place. And I wonder, aren't they aware of these simple rules?

On the other hand, I really enjoyed UP and FEU's joined halftime performance today. It was cool albeit quite confusing during the first few minutes (seeing maroons and greens cheering in the court). Although it wasn't a great game for UP. They just swept the first round, 0-7. =(( FEU won by only 3 pts, 87-84

And now, the UE and AdU game is still in progress, but by the looks of it, UE is also on for sweeping the first round, but only with 7 wins.

Here's the team standings as of yesterday, Aug 4:

STANDINGS
UE60
DLSU52
ADMU43
UST43
FEU33
NU34
ADU15
UP06

My Life As It Is Now...

For the past weeks, I've had too many blog-worthy experiences that I just never had the chance to write in the end...I'm spending my morning commutes forming the words in my head, vowing to blog it when I had a chance at work then in the end, it's another morning commute and I realize that I didn't blog about it the previous day.

This new lifestyle is not easy. There are just so many things and transitions happening in my life that it's sometimes too overwhelming. But I ain't complaining, don't get me wrong. I love it! and as much as I can (and I must or else..) I'm embracing everything.

Gone were the days when I would just text message my boss that I'm not feeling well, rest at home and come in the office the next day. Now if I do that, I still would, at least, check my mails, assign tasks, follow up with critical tasks, etc. Daily nosebleed is not uncommon either (kelangan ko ata mag-isip ng english for emails everyday. haha!)

Aside from these new updates, I'm still participating in extra curriculars at wok. (what i really rave for this post, really. XD) For the past 3 years or so, I've been helping organize birthday surprises, team buildings, parties, etc... This is the venue where I showcase my other "talents". hehe! Now, we're working on a project that will take us to the next level. haha! Although showing my vids in the entire department - 700+ peeps - is not new, this the first time that I'll be working with other teams to create our video.

I'm enjoying it so far...It's kinda tiring though.. What with staff meetings, creating screenplays,  storyboards, logistics, presenting to the bosses, etc...But today, I feel a certain sense of pride as we finish working on the shoot that others deemed impossible to achieve.

Of course makapal talaga mukha ko, but it also takes great actors, luck (that we'll not get to jail) and a dedicated brother to pull off shooting outside GT Tower in Ayala (with the MAPSA just some few feet away), inside the MRT (na super puno pa nung sumakay kami), at a park and a bridge between flyovers and the South Super Hi-way!

Pulling off the bridge scene was the most nerve wracking, what with people passing the whole shoot and also manong guard asking what the hell are we doing there.!?! Our answer: "project po sa school". bwahahhahaha! Good thing was everyone can still pass as college students! XD Then his next question: "saang school kayo?" My bro quickly said: UST. My thought was "buti na lang hindi nagsabay sumagot mga mokong tapos magka-ibang school sasabihin" hahahaha! Great! Manong guard left us to finish the shoot. Our cover wasn't blown.

By lunchtime we've wrapped up the shoot and with hungry, empty tummies, we hopped in the MRT then went home.

Activities like these are what make my working life so exciting, no matter how busy I get with my work. It's the feeling of accomplishment and of course, being young! -- parang gumagawa lang ng project sa school. hehehe ~_*
