Checkpoint: 6 months into my EP experience

Yui will turn 6 months old next week. She's already half a year old! Amazing!

So that means that it will also be 6 months since I started exclusively pumping for her breastmilk. It feels that time flew so fast and yet sometimes it feels like I've been doing this for so long already. Recently, I've been thinking if I should continue doing this. I sometimes feel downhearted especially since my supply dropped when I started having my monthly visit again. It makes me sad to see that my yield for the day is just around 20-ish oz. But I felt happy too when I was able to bring it back up to about 26 - 30 oz a day. Lately, I seem to be pumping only 3 times a day and my supply will only be in the 25-ish oz. Every now and then, I would be masipag and would yield my old supply of 35oz, one time even 39oz! I guess the different daily yields can also be traced to my rollercoaster feelings about pumping.

I'm also thankful that my bosses and my team respect my choice to do this. They're used to my "mommy time" and would just smile whenever they see me off to the quiet room with my pump-ernalia bag, fridge-to-go and my paper cover on hand. I also love it that we have a "quiet room" in the office - a small room with 2 couch for intimate meetings - where I can do my "mommy time". I just use the paper to cover the non-frosted glass part of the room (where people can peek to see if someone is in there). So it really isn't hard for me to do this especially in the office.

I want to continue for as long as I can because I can truly see the benefits of it. There are a lot! And the greatest of course is that my baby is healthy (and strong! ) I hope I will get over my once in a blue moon depression bouts... Please papa God, give me strength to continue doing this....

Panlasang Pilipino, At home sa Jollibee...

At around 4 1/2 months, Yui started showing signs that she really wants to eat mommy and daddy's food.

One thing that we noticed is that her favorite is "eating" a Jollibee Regular Yum burger.

Yui would grab daddy's burger at lalamutakin ang burger (berjer)! Ang ending ng berjer...basang-basa with laway! ~_~

And now that she has finally started eating food, Yui finally was able to eat her favorite berjer for real!

Proof that she just wants her regular yum: one time we had McDo cheeseburger and gave it to her. Yui just looked at it, turned the wrapper over and over and then finally grabbed the burger from the table then releasing it causing it to fall on the floor.
