Preggy Tales: Getting ready for D-Day

I'm already at my 36th week of pregnancy tomorrow and I'll be in full term na. Yay! But my OB told me not to stress myself out pa din and start walking (as exercise) around mga 38th week pa. I guess I'll be making the rounds at SM and Glorietta or Guada mall at that time na lang. hehe! I can also use this time to buy some stuffs for baby Yui which I may have forgotten to buy before.

While waiting for the big day, however, I'm just keeping myself busy with nesting. They say it's one of the signs daw na malapit nang mag-labor. hehe! I'm super excited to fix Yui's things and parang hindi ako mapakali. I'm continously thinking of "projects" to do - like folding her clothes, organizing the toiletries on top of the cabinet, laundrying her other clothes (well, ito ay trabaho ni mama hehe), then putting the clothes in plastic bags muna so that they won't get dirty. Saka ko na sila iaayos sa loob ng cabinet once everything have been laundered and ironed.

This weekend I was able to complete packing our bags for the hospital. Well, almost coz I still have to find some other stuffs. I got my list from a combination of lists from GT, the book that I've been reading since Day 1 of my pregnancy (Baby Love: A Pinay's Guide to Pregnancy) and from my mom. I VOTE EARTH

"All around the world... People make a change... Come on and join the celebration!" - quoting from Eraserheads' Christmas Party...

But tonight was no Christmas Party. Yet, people are making a change. People are celebrating. We are celebrating Mother Earth. And making a statement for our future. naks, ang lalim di ba?!?

Earth Hour 2009 was observed this March 28, 2009 at 8:30 - 9:30 pm and we took part in this momentous event so that in our own little way, we can help make the world a better place for the next generation. And for my Baby Yui.

So what did we do during the Earth Hour?

- Cooked tinola in the dark

- Took photos of the candles... weee parang birthday!!

- Realized and was very happy that our wedding souvenir was finally put to good use as a candle holder.

- Watched the neighbors' children play outside in semi-darkness (some street lights were on). I suddenly missed the good old "patintero under the moonlight" days when I was a kid.

- Discovered that there's a cell site right outside our house while we were checking out the street if it's total darkness (which is not )

- Enjoyed the full hour and then suddenly realizing that it's already 9:32 and we can switch on the lights back already! Time really does fly when you're having fun.

Anyway, it was a good experience and I hope we can do it again sometime soon. There was even one person who posted in twitter that they might do this once a month. Not a bad idea, really. Maybe we all should. Or maybe we just need to be more conscious about how we use our resources. It's never too late to observe Earth Hour.

I made my vote count tonight, so can you.
My votes for Earth Hour 2009 at: Twitter, Flickr, and this blog. :)

Preggy Tales: Surprise Baby Shower

It all started out innocently. The weather was great and the sun was shining brightly. I wasn't aware that the day will have something in store for me and my baby... (naks, madrama)...

Anyway, the story goes like this...

Our family (me, daddy bunny, my cousin Chen and my mom) planned to hangout (a.k.a. sleepover) at my brother's new house in QC. We spent and enjoyed last weekend there, so we planned to go again this weekend. Masarap kasi magbahay-bahayan doon. Wala masyadong clutter. hehehe!

So the first trip after lunch was the guys - AC, daddy bunny and kuya Duke. They brought the ref from our house to QC. Then daddy bunny went to his driving lessons at SM North. AC came back to fetch me and Chen then off we went to QC looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Once we were there, this time with daddy bunny na, we set up our things and then cleaned the house (ang purpose lang pala ni AC sa amin ay maging cleaning ladies haha). Mama was supposed to arrive around dinner time.

To make the long story short, at around 8 pm, as AC was leaving the house to have dinner with friends he asked daddy bunny to go with him to the car to "get the floormats". While I was left washing some dishes.

What I didn't know was something like this was happening right outside the unit:
Andun na pala yung 5ece (a.k.a. UST engineering) friends sa labas with daddy bunny...

Then daddy bunny arrived and said, "We're back!" And I thought, "bakit "we're"? Sinong kasama nya, yung spiderman doormat?" 1 split second lang yon pero naisip ko yon ha!
But right after him, came in Jen! I was surprised and pretty much looked like this:

I thought si Jen lang yon, tapos biglang pumapasok silang lahat isa-isa.... Ena's thoughts again: "waaaaah! anong ginagawa nyo dito???!?" and then said it out loud din pala. hehehe!

So ayon, may surprise baby shower pala ako. haha! At alam nilang lahat: daddy bunny, mama, chen, AC... At hindi man lang ako nagtaka kung bakit may pinadalang sandamakmak na paper plates, spoon and fork and plastic cups si mama sa amin. amps! hahahaha!

I was so surprised and happy at the same time. I like surprises! hihihi!

We had food and gifts galore:

And after the very satisfying, high-cholesterol dinner we had the gift-opening ceremonies! yay! Isang malaking thank you sa mga gifts! Kahit ang akala ni Lloyd ay boy ang baby (reason why the gifts are blue, pati gift wrapper haha!)

After enjoying the cute baby girl stuffs, we had GAMES!!! Boys vs. Girls. Ang saya ng charades (categories: baby movies and song) and Pinoy Henyo (anything baby-related).

I had a blast that night and kahit puyat, super saya ako and touched sa ginawa nila. Sa uulitin! (sa baby shower ni Adit hahahaha!)
