Holiday Break 2008

Syempre this is the perfect time to bond with our families and just rest after one year of work stress and life's stress in general. It'll be a perfect opportunity to look back at everything that happened in 2008 and look forward to a great 2009 year ahead, amidst the economic crisis that we are in.

Since wala akong magawa ngayon after all the partying today (a.k.a. pigging out at Melvin's aunt's house), I'll just roughly list my "to-dos" for the long vacation...

1. Have my ultrasound so we'll finally know what Baby Bunny is
       -   I know my OB adviced me not to have it yet until the first week of January, but being the "low E.Q." person that I am, I might not be able to make it.

2. Pick a boy's name for Baby Bunny.
       -   We already have a name if the baby is a she, but we still don't have name pag boy sya.

3. Select wedding pictures for printing

4. Backup and organize files from the laptop and external hard drives

5. Explore and read more articles at babycenter, my new baby site find

6. Attend Jervy's Christening on Sunday

7. Rest. Rest. Rest.

8. Eat. Eat. Eat.

Happy Christmas everyone!

May you all have the greatest, most blessed Christmas day.

Edu and Khandice's Wedding

Start:     Nov 30, '08
Location:     UST Chapel
Two college couples wedding in two weeks! Whew! Busy November para sa 5ecea friends. hehehe! A week after my wedding, mag-aabay naman ako sa kasal nina Adit. hehe!

ena2r Wedding AVP

With all the video-making skills that we have in this family, akalain nyong muntik pa kaming walang AVP. Nagkakatamaran na kasi gumawa noon...what with band practices, wedding preps and full schedules. hehe! Good thing, we were still able to implement our plan, albeit a little bit different from the initial concept we had two months ago. AC and Melvin did this two nights before the wedding. haha! Talk about cramming! lolz!

Anyways, I really loved how it turned out. It was so ena2r, a typical AC film and it was AWESOME and LEGENDARY! ^_^

The ena2r awesome AVP, a.k.a. Seven Years of Hair Evolution. =)

- At the hotel, we played and goofed around for 2 more days. =)

Bridal Shower

My officemates threw me a bridal shower last November 18th at the office. I was totally surprised and wasn't expecting it at all! konchaba pa nila si Melvin. hehe! Thanks girls! =)

Nanie Susan's surprise

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1Ozb4NLRvA
Our ninang, Nanie Susan (Melvin's aunt) surprised us with this performance. She handed out lyrics of Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok ko so that the guests can join her in singing. :-)

This I Promis You video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZlrDzOkTQY
- Aileen's video of the performance by Kuya Dodie and Uncle Reynold

We asked kuya Dodie (hubby of ate Ian the host) to sing and Uncle Reynold (hubby of my aunt) to play this song for the wedding. This is another side story on how our families made our wedding day really special. Kuya Dodie is from Melvin's side of the family and Uncle Reynold is from mine. They only met at the wedding and practiced separately. But it was still awesome. =) We're so lucky to have really talented and thoughtful family.

The Day I Turned Into Mrs. Melvin De Guzman...

We finally did it! I’m now officially Mrs. Melvin Joey De Guzman...or should I say, na2r’s now Mr. Anna Dayot? Bwehehe!

Anyway, our wedding story is somewhat different than the usual and at the same time full of the same normal wedding tales. For starters, I was never into the whole wedding hoopla from the beginning. I never had my grand wedding dream when I was just a little girl. I haven’t a slightest idea what wedding do I want. I was naive to think I can invite only 60 people to a wedding. And my only wish for the wedding is to have a great party. That’s not too much ask, right? But boy was I wrong. Having those “requirements” need a lot of hard work and patience. And I would vouch that all those who’ve planned for a wedding would agree.

Having no expectations of what I really want proved to be both a hindrance and a blessing. It’s hard for me to decide on things and I would just mostly rely on the people around – mostly Melvin. There was a point when they told me that I should have the last say on a decision since I’m the bride. Okay payn... I need to channel my bride-to-be mode. Also, it was a blessing since I really don't have any expectations so I can just go with the flow.

With only three months of planning, it was an organized chaos for us. We didn’t hire a wedding planner, so we just did most of the errands ourselves. We relied on our family and friend’s help for other stuffs and we’re very thankful to have a full support system. It wasn’t easy having little baby bunny either. We had to juggle going to the OB and the modista, church, venue, etc in one day. We worked on wedding stuffs only on weekends since the weekdays proved to be all work and no play for us (well, most of the time...if we have time for play, it wasn’t to plan for a wedding. Haha! )

We had our priorities, and one of them is to not hire a professional photographer/videographer.  I’m very happy and thankful to have friends like Mike Ong and Sonny who immediately said yes when I asked them to help in the pixies. It was Sonny’s first time to cover a wedding and we baptized him. ) We wanted to buy a Sony HD camcorder since summer and decided that this is a great opportunity to do it (excuse to splurge on another gadget. Hehe!) So we bought the SR-11, which costs us almost the same as hiring a pro photographer but we thought “forever naman ito, hindi pang-isang araw lang” hehehe. In the end, we were really happy to work with Mikez and Sonny. And I hope they did too.

Of course our biggest priority is having a great party. We just wanted to have fun and for people to enjoy our wedding as well. Again, being the DIY people that we are, we just hired band instruments and decided that we’d play in the reception ourselves. We’ve always wanted to play YUI’s song, Life. Since it’s our day, people had no choice but to listen. Haha! Although there are those, I think, that opted to go home. Hahahaha! We practiced really hard for this and devoted time for the debut of Chipangang Kumunoy. We had a blast! I do love too how ate Ian worked the crowd and really upped the fun level of the party. Thanks, ate Ian!

The biggest bloopers – slash – disasters of the wedding happened in the church. Our wedding is early, as in the first wedding of the day (on a side note: thanks to those who woke up really early to attend ) The church “coordinator” always was telling us to be at the church 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. Melvin and his entourage (the guys) were there at around 8:15. Hindi naman kasi sila excited. But there was no “coordinator” that met him. He had to run to the church and the parish office back and forth to find kuya Daniel. Kuya Daniel kept telling us before that they would assist us in the church, give out instructions to the secondary sponsors, etc. But when he finally showed up, he just told the entourage to line up and then left to attend some matters; which happened to be being the priest’s attendant as well. I was there at 9am (I was planning on being there at 8:30, but good thing I didn't since my makeup would’ve melted by the time they started the ceremony) and they started at 9:30. Not our fault, since we were there on time. Which brings me to the next blooper. Our officiating priest “forgot” that he’s doing a wedding. I’m not sure how the parish office works but they didn’t even have the effort to remind their priest. And to think that he’s just living at Sto. Domingo and left minutes before our wedding! I think that’s the reason why we started late. They had to find a replacement at the last minute. It turned out okay though since the priest that wed us, although bummer that he didn’t actually know us, had a really nice and funny homily and I think he did a pretty well good job with so little time to prepare. And then the last part of the church saga was the choir. If you were there last Saturday you’re probably thinking “anong choir itong sinasabi ni ena?” And you’re right. Anong choir? Asan ang choir? WALA!!!  We paid for a choir to sing at the mass and there wasn’t any. Haha!

There were other stories on the side but it just added spice to the entire wedding. It wasn’t the perfect wedding but it was truly OUR wedding. Full of laughs and comedic moments at the church and at the reception,  but that’s just us. I would never have wanted it any other way.

Marrying the man that I love is the greatest blessing that I have in my life. That is perfect enough for me.

Some people just don't get it...

Or even respect what WE want.

It's so frustrating how at the last minute they seem to just turn and hit us right in the face.

No matter how much we explain, they just don't want to understand.

And it's coming from the people who WE expect to understand us in the first place.

Thank God for all the other people who at least get us and are there to support us. Thank you! You know who you are.

I've been wanting to blog about our wedding preps but with everything that's been happening with the preps, baby blues and work stress... the most I can do is open my multiply and click Add new blog entry. Then close the window.

Tales of the ena2r bunnies - First Sign of Life

In the past week, we received the greatest news ever! After trying for the longest time, missing every time because of my health problem, and almost losing hope this year... IT happened.

first sign of life

My doctor calls it a "miracle" because only 4 out her 10 patients who has PCOS have successfully conceived and it is widely believed that women with this symptom have difficulty becoming pregnant. Coming from a 3-year treatment which happened to be in vain (because I still have it), all I can say is it is indeed a miracle.

We're so happy to be blessed with this little bunny, este, angel. We hope he/she/"it" (haha) will just grow to be healthy, and I hope there won't be any PCOS-related complications.

To everyone who are surprised with this news... don't be. Haha!

Tales of a commuter - Rush Hour

I personally set a goal to come to the office earlier and have a sort of early shift. It seemed promising for the past three weeks as I was coming in between 7-7:30am. I was enjoying the early morning laid-back, 15-minute commute.

And then it happened.

Last Tuesday, I came in late. It was still 7:45 when I was waiting for the bus but it was already HOT and buses were full.

Being the macho girl that I was, I jumped in the overflowing bus so I won't be late. I was literally standing by the door. Good thing manong kunduktor asked me to move up and the people around to make an inch of a space for me. Para nga naman di maipit ng pinto.

There I was.. perspiring my gut out, with butts bumping at me from all directions, with manongs (who were reaching for the hand support) almost have their arms around me... There were sweat everywhere, from all ages and gender. There were cussing and swearing. There were bodies touching...

That's when I realized the most amazing thing...

Rush Hour commute is very much like an Orgy.

All the essentials are there. Just replace those manongs with hunks and I'll willingly ride the rush hour traffic everyday. haha!

Tales of a commuter - Back to Ayala Edition

So after six months, I'm back to my usual commuting schedule.. Back to familiar territories and manong drivers... I still take the same route and same bus line. So what changed and what stayed the same after these long months?

What's Hot:
There's a new bus routing system in Guadalupe, similar to Buendia where buses only pass by these specific lanes. At least it's less hassle because I don't have to chase after the bus anymore. =)

What's Hotter:
I come in earlier than before (usually between 6:30 to 7am), so I don't experience the rush hour traffic, bus SRO and all those morning commute hell. My entire trip will only be around 15minutes which will take me an hour if I commute at 8:30am.

What's Hottest:
The satellite office that Melvin's company was arranging has finally been approved and they started working there last week. So now, Melvin will be in Makati for at least one day per week. Which means we go to work together, we can have lunch together, and all those really cool stuffs! ^_____________^

What's Not:
The herd that burns their lungs over at THAT one building where I pass by every morning are still there. I still don't know why they loiter at the sidewalk where every passer by can take in their smoke. grrr.. It really irritates me whenever I accidentally sniffed the air in this area. I wonder if this will ever go away. I hope that building will open their own place where their employees can burn their lungs without compromising other people's health.

Homeward Bound

Start:     Jul 19, '08 08:00a
End:     Jul 20, '08
sa wakas......

Turn back time

If only I could turn back time...

Give me time to reason,
give me time to think it through
Passing through the season,
where I cheated you

I will always have a cross to wear,
but the bolt reminds me I was there

So give me strength,
to face this test tonight

If only I could turn back time
If only I had said what I still hide
If only I could turn back time
I would stay for the night. For the night...

Claim your right to science
Claim your right to see the truth
Though my pangs of conscience,
Will drill a hole in you

I seen it coming like a thief in the night,
I seen it coming from the flash of your light

So give me strength,
to face this test tonight

If only I could turn back time
If only I had said what I still hide
If only I could turn back time..
I would stay for the night

The bolt reminds me I was there
the bolt reminds me I was there

If only I could turn back time
If only I had said what I still hide
If only I could turn back time
I would stay for the night

Drifting...

peace out, mga pre.

Fring - free mobile internet services

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Computers & Electronics
Product Type: Cell-phones
Manufacturer:  fringsters community
What is fring?
It is a free mobile internet services that allows you to use Skype, MSN live messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc to chat and call (Skype calls) using your cellphone (Symbian OS) and an internet connection (3G, GPRS or WiFi)

Why it's cool?
It is free. You can download it from www.fring.com and install it in your phone. It's very easy to use. Once you've install it, you can "subscribe" or login to any supported instant messenger (and they support tons) - MSN live messenger, YM, Skype, AIM, etc... You can chat seamlessly (well, seamlessly depends on your internet connection =)) and even do live calls thru Skype or send pictures thru MSN. You can send pictures that you took from your phone to your contact, and you don't need to upload it in a PC! XD

All you need is your cellphone, an internet connection and viola! Chat whenever, wherever...

With the situation we're in right now, fring is the next best thing since N95 8G. With the crappy wifi my laptop's got, fring has allowed me to still chat and share pictures anytime. And since it's installed on my phone, I don't have to bring a laptop everytime I go to other people's houses. I just connect to their wifi using my phone and I can fring...It's so mobile, it can fit in your pocket. @__@ And did I mention it's free? ^_^

www.fring.com
Check out their site and their videos for cool things you can do with fring! =)

Tales of A Commuter Chicago Edition - Week 10 Part 2

Random shots from the weekend I spent wandering around the city alone...

having lunch by the window...hmmm ano bang magawa?

peaceful dining at Wow Bao..thought I'd try this place...patawa yung tagline nila eh: "Wow Bao: Hot Asian buns" parang iba ang naisip ko nung nabasa ko yon. bwehehhehe.

Also had a mongolian beef bowl....pero parang kakaiba pa din yung lasa...kinda spicy...

Dearborn St., waiting for the bus: kawawa naman mga puno..kelan ba kasi mag-spring nang magkabulaklak naman ang mga ito?!?

All About Dance: where I spent my lazy Sunday afternoon... taking my first dance class in chicago... I actually thought I registered to the MTV hip hop I class but when I got there, it was actually MTV hip hop II. pero ok lang keri pa din naman...

pasensya na sa quality... "hidden cam" effect kasi i'm not sure kung pwede kumuha ng video haha. halos puro paa pero kita pa din naman yung mirror...kung magtataka kayo kung nasan ako, just follow the nike free and the clutsy girl in white shirt. lolz!
